I don't think people take social media seriously enough. He may have thought it was a sneaky kii kii on Twitter, a quick cackle and then return to work and being serious. But I don't think he understands how that could easily go viral and fall back on him.

I was just saying yesterday that if more people learned of the responsibility of social media (especially when you're on there repping a company you work for ) a lot less people would lose their jobs.
