Question: What are the weekly salaries of Broadway actors, ranging from stars, such as Nathan Lane and Kristin Chenoweth, to those who are making their Broadway debuts? ? Gladys Sommers, East Brunswick, NJ.

Salaries of above-the-title stars like Lane and Chenoweth vary greatly and are usually kept under wraps by both the performers and their producers. However, star paydays often find their way into the pages of publications like the New York Post and Variety. Lane and his co-star in The Producers, Matthew Broderick, are known to have set a kind of record during their run in the smash musical for pulling down more than $100,000 a week. More recently, the Post reported that the base salary of Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig in A Steady Rain was $40,000 week, on top of which they received a hefty percentage of the box office, netting them more than $100,000 a week. The same daily said Julia Roberts fetched $150,000 a week while in Three Days of Rain. Will Ferrell and Billy Crystal also did famously well during their only Broadway appearances. Producers are willing to pay these steep prices as stars have become one of the only sure ways of attracting an audience during the ongoing recession.

She booked $500k-$1m over the last few months from the show.

Broadway rarely pays that much. I'm sure she got a raise after her extension but typically the wage is around 4-5k per week.

Not for headliners or people of Brandy's caliber. You think she'd do that mess for $700 per show? :everythingok:

"Actor Minimum Wage. As of August 2010, the minimum salary for an actor on Broadway is $1,605 per week. This is the minimum rate regardless of name, experience or celebrity though an actor and her agent are free to attempt to negotiate a higher rate if the producer will pay it."

I'm sure she was able to neogoatiate something slightly higher but I seriously doubt 100k a week. Broadway is cheap. But who knows maybe..

Ummmmmm No one in Broadway is getting paid $1,000 a week. Dummy. I should know because I've done off Broadway shows and made $600 for 4 shows. And that's Off Broadway. Broadway shows are paying actors at least $30,000 to upwards of $500,000. I know for a FACT that Kristen Chenoweth is getting paid LOTS for "On The 20th Century" which I've seen. I go to Broadway shows often. So I know how much the tickets cost and so forth. I even know how much it takes to put on a Broadway show and a show like Chicago which has been around for decades those producers are NOT paying $1,000 a week. So get the fuck out of here with that dumb logic.  Stick to worrying about Monica, because you don't know nothing regarding Broadway.
