and plus The Wiz is an all-black production. Glad they are doing this mess even though I hate the damn movie dfjjdjfddfjjdf

Herb.

BAPHOMET.

Not unless the monkeys in the original Wizard of Oz were supposed to be ethnics. I see no point in adding mayo to the cast.

I have to say that I havent seen the original movie, so have no idea about its concept, the adaptation and all. But seeing all these black actors/singers confirmed one after another... cant help but feel this is a gimmick. I mean.. just a black actors show? its not something realistic, its clearly done to appeal to just one audience. Something I wont ever understand, but this is how some networks/producers think, so...

it was a Broadway musical that had an all-black cast and won 7 Tonys and then went on to become a movie adaptation that starred Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.

The setting is in Harlem, so yeah, it's all black cast.

BigDawg

Well The Wiz is an all black take on The Wizard of Oz, the play and the movie was an all black cast.

what movie? because I remember pieces of a White adaptation decades ago.
And whats the real source of this? is it a novel or traditional tale? Not sure the original source was about a whole black roster of characters, u know what  I mean?
