Not seeing the difference between posting about this and posting about Beyonce speaking up. It's using ur celebrity to impact. Im not sure what Vonc's intent was but it's about the power to reach as many people as possible and taking a stand against something rather that be a tweet, a donation, attending a protest, or all of the above. Celebrities have power to shape policy as well as people.

I think some of you have issues differentiating between acknowledging someone/something and seeking validation. They are not the same thing. It makes you look irrational and stubborn. No shade.

Are they really allies though?
They seem like opportunistics to me
Possibly. But in a sense, they bring forth an issue to a wider audience. Same can be argued for any celebrity really..
this is a national issue
It can't get any wider than that
It comes across self serving IMO
'Lemme tweet this before I called out'
Yes, it is a national issue that everyone is aware of but there are still so many racists who will always have something negative to say about it. Not saying that P!nk is a savior whatsoever but it is possible that she can reach out to a person that maybe a black celebrity cannot..

ALL OF THIS! WTF do I care about some validation :dead:
This issue is bigger than that and WE ALL need to be on board and raising awareness.

This is an issue that everyone should weigh in on.  So yes,  i like seeing when someone who could easily go on without  seemingly being effected speaks out and are just as outraged.   This was something that we praised Bernie Sanders for,  yes? So what :dead:
right

And pretty risky for her to do, considering her punk rock following or whatever the hell it is

But how often is there a gay club shooting?

That's not the point. There were black people in that club who lost their lives to senseless violence and there were a lot of black celebs who didn't say shit but are playing activist now...

and I'm seeing PLENTY of gay black people voice outrage and hurt over what has happened in the last few days. that love and support doesn't seem to be fully reciprocated from straight folks and it's an issue that needs to be addressed.
