how come red does not have a cult following like FM in the industry...

but it does, which is why Aaliyah is still talked about, praised, and u have drake stanning trying to fund albums and mess.  :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead:

Not the actual album though, but her persona. Most people, if at all clutch onto her OIAM album or her early AANBN era. Those are the songs people love to cover. Most literature describes OIAM as Li's essence. That's the symbiosis of Missy/Tim/Li. Nobody talked about Red the album like that.
this just isnt true and honestly NO ONE talks about AANBAN era. We go up for like two songs. Aaliyah's legacy is built off of her last two albums and thats not hardly debatable :dead:

Ppl always quick to chune out "Let Me Know" as a tribute mess.

At the same time, who would cover a FM song over Have U Ever, Almost Doesn't, I Wanna Be Down....yet FM Album has the following. Same thing.
TRUE! Thats the album people like but not the songs u equate with Brandy, so there goes that theory

Not when all the notable Gospel and neo soul gorls cover and perform "He Is", "Like This" etc.

And artist make it a point to say "Full Moon". It's the actual album that stuck, not some singles or a swoop, they say "Full Moon", in its entirety.

FM did something vocally that No album, including Red, did. Imo it has a following because of what Brandy did. The layers and backgrounds and atmospheres she created, the omission of negative space. The adlibbing, etc. She's the vocal bible not the blueprint for albums. Her/Their vocal production is the reason for that. No argument can be made there. But overall album, of course.

I can agree with all of that. But somethings mere vocal genius can trump out the rest. FM had some corny lyrics and some of the sounds were repetitive but the vocal genius made up for it and pushes the other two out of the water therefore.

And that's why all of this mess is opinion ;;;

Cuz the way some of y'all called "All In Me" and "Apart" filler

like....

AANBAN the song is also one of the popular cuts for Li. The line/lyric really embodied her.

Not when people in this very thread who listed FM as their first pick stated that it had filler, which means some love FM but not in its "entirety."

And not sure what a swoop has to do with anything when she stopped wearing that for Red, and not when Brandy is known for braids

Tbh... All of Aaliyah's albums are Iconic and memorable.

SouravMay

Can I ask the Li's something? Don't you think out of all the three, Red is the least authentic or the "fakest", for the lack of a better term.

I just don't Aaliyah was very open and personal it was difficult to connect with her on Red.
