Not the actual album though, but her persona. Most people, if at all clutch onto her OIAM album or her early AANBN era. Those are the songs people love to cover. Most literature describes OIAM as Li's essence. That's the symbiosis of Missy/Tim/Li. Nobody talked about Red the album like that.this just isnt true and honestly NO ONE talks about AANBAN era. We go up for like two songs. Aaliyah's legacy is built off of her last two albums and thats not hardly debatable Ppl always quick to chune out "Let Me Know" as a tribute mess.At the same time, who would cover a FM song over Have U Ever, Almost Doesn't, I Wanna Be Down....yet FM Album has the following. Same thing.

Imo it has a following because of what Brandy did. The layers and backgrounds and atmospheres she created, the omission of negative space. The adlibbing, etc. She's the vocal bible not the blueprint for albums. Her/Their vocal production is the reason for that. No argument can be made there. But overall album, of course.I can agree with all of that. But somethings mere vocal genius can trump out the rest. FM had some corny lyrics and some of the sounds were repetitive but the vocal genius made up for it and pushes the other two out of the water therefore.
