I think he got away with some songs because the parts he redid were so short.  If it's less than a few seconds, I don't think it will hold up in court.

The WNAR sample is so cleverly done with just like 2.5 seconds, I'm almost not mad at him.

The Neptunes did alot of sampling too without crediting. Britney Spears sampled Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl"

He made a big mistake on that foreign sample for Dip it Low, though.
