she's surpassed legendary artists from the 60's and 80's with chart performance records and sales records

She's highly mainstream and remains marketable even tho being a proudly black female who embraces a bad girl image

I guess we all do see differently because everything that was listed in that post is what I feel about Aaliyah but people somehow find a way to stan. She is COMPLETELY lackluster performance wise (outside of a video). Her voice is terrible live, and her only redeeming quality is the music. Aaliyah doesnt have a performance that rivals any of rih's last night, dance or otherwise

well it's a tad unfair, because Aaliyah had 3 era's and not very many performances to speak of. 

If Rih's career stopped at GGGB, I'm not sure there would even be a comparison, as she wouldn't be worthy IMO.
