I thought she wanted LUV as a single and they wanted RWU?
RWU would have been a massive hit, it was right for that climate in music

RWU would have been a massive hit, it was right for that climate in music

All kinda mess went down that era.  LUV was already slated to be the single and sent to radio when LA changed his mind and wanted RWU.  But RWU didn't initially test well with radio and LUV was actually doing better so Janet and LA kept disagreeing about the direction of the era.  RWU would have been the 3rd single after Luv.  Then the plan was to release both singles together which is why RWU was filmed.  Long story short LA said fuck it and cancelled the whole project 3 weeks after it was released.  That's why Janet was "sick" and backed out of SNL and LA replaced her with Mariah.

The choreography of this video ruined this era IMO. She could have slayed it thoroughly.
The song shat for dear life and the video started off promising but fell short.
