a parent of a child that was obviously taken advantage of
will definitely monitor their child's calls at those ages

Advising someone on business deals is NOT a case of checking outgoing calls. You are really trying... 

That's a meeting. Thats a phone conversation with said parent. That's a convo to have while buying groceries for the Sunday diner. Thats something I'm sure Li would have handled like "Mom, Joel Silver has this script for me, I'm already signed on to 3 other movies, do you think I should add this to my plate?"
