Umm Fran which Jamaica u talking about?
Queens Jamaica?
Cause the Jamaica I lived my whole life (except for the past 9yrs) is extremely homophobic.
In fact it's the most homophobic country in the Caribbean.
I've witnessed violence towards gays countless of times.
It happened to me myself a few times also.
I have friends who were killed just because they are gay.
Eventhough I don't live in Jamaica anymore I have family there and they keep me updated.
Plus there's countless of videos with gays getting killed or beaten.
So where was the exaggeration?
:uhh:

FRANCE

But yeah, why is Beanie's voice even being heard in 2016? Thought he was already six feet under.

Gay bashing is worldwide but to say people are targeted and killed everyday is a bit of a STRETCH. Homosexuality in JA is not as shunned as it used to be and some people are openly gay. Public display of affection is a no no though.
the girls are more brave than they were when I left 9 yrs ago but ppl are still getting killed.

Well, is your family gay/bi? How would they know? An exaggeration is you saying gays are targeted and killed. And a lot can change and has changed in 9yrs. Even in the US, a lot has changed and progress made in 9yrs. But Im living in JA right now until January. And ur view of homosexuality in JA is late, exaggerated and flawed. If u wanna know how it is, ask me. But I'm not ducking gun shots or rocks being thrown at me on the daily. Jamaica like most countries are becoming more gay friendly. Trust me, things aint the same when u were in ur teens.

I think it's seen as an agenda because people went from rarely seeing it to now almost every show has a LGBT character or more. And it happened relatively quickly

I agree with this.

How?
I agree as well. No one said it's a bad thing. Gay people are in everyday life so they should be incorporated in ALL TV but it did go from 0 to 60. So i could understand how someone could see it as an agenda. But it's still ignorant. That's like a white person complaining about this influx of black tv. Yea, we're here and should be represented accordingly but to act like it didn't blow up in these last few yrs would be a lie
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Point me to recent murders since last month. Since u say "everyday", u must be able to direct me to a few news articles.

I don't understand why it bothers people though because lgbt people are such a small percentage of the population. They're not a threat at all. And although studies suggest that generations x y z are more likely to be gender fluid,  if your son or daughter is meant to be gay, they will be gay. Nothing will shield them from it.

Ever since Orlando, there have been a lot of attacks on LGBT peeps. And unfortunately, I expect it to get even worse. That is what happens when you start to progress. Look what happened when the first black man became President. People don't like it when you're too proud and free.

true I haven't been back in a long time so I'm going off of what I'm seeing on the news and what ppl are telling me.
But I also experienced a lot so I was talking about my encounters.
Without getting into too much detail.
I got into an incident where I almost got killed.

But what are u seeing in the news cause I aint seeing it lol. Im in Mandeville. Now dont get me wrong, homosexuality is still a no no here. But targeted and killed everyday...not even 9yrs ago. Just like Vonc said, even in the US, a lot of progress has been made over the past few yrs. Same in JA. Slowly...but surely.

wizzy

Gay men were only used for comedic purposes and
gay women were used to attract male viewers

If it wasn't a Men On Film joke or some fag getting his face stomped
straight men didn't wanna see it.

What disgusts them now is seeing love/sexual scenes in tv & movies
because it's all they associate us with.

Eternal Bell

fran' still thinks filth harm' has a chance so ofc he doesnt admit tht its still as horrible as evr there!
