People actually think you pop a PrEP mess and you're good now.

PrEP was never marketed as 100% effective, but it is better than doing nothing at all.

QuoteGrossman found that the patient?s strain of HIV was resistant to both of the drugs in Truvada, as well as all of the other drugs in its class, which work by blocking one of the enzymes needed by the virus to reproduce. The new strain did not match his partner?s, meaning that the multi-drug-resistant virus must have been transmitted during one of the two sexual encounters.

Which is why its important to get educated on sexual health and people you're sleeping with. I wish they didn't market PrEP they way that they did. Folks really got even wilder.
!!!!!
I'm seeing people coming in now saying they haven't used a condom with anyone in the last 6 months
This should be a damn public health warning  :dead:

i could give a whole thesis statement on this. but what i will say in my professional capacity is that it is situations like this that made me not support the promotion of prep in the first place. hiv resistance to drugs is very well and you have no idea what it is like to be in a clinic and d.c. and have a non-compliant patient who has to be switched from regimen to regimen because they refuse to comply. it creates these super bugs and if the conditions are perfect and that person goes out to sleep with a person on truvada and their load is high enough YOU will get HIV.

but its just my preference, when patient ask me about it. i always say and share that. even though the infectious disease physician and pharamacist will have you believe otherwise.

nope, they sure aren't

and apparently STDs rates are on the rise as well.. wonder why

They don't and even hiv + patients will come in with sites. It's like didn't you learn from the diagnosis. Part of it is that a person who is complaint and controlled will live a regular life for the most part with meds. I think it just makes ppl a little nonchalant

Prep seems expensive and pointless. What does it do, that a condom does not? That's an honest question, I'm trying to learn...

There's something devious about the roll-out of PrEP :dead:

Just a money maker
I think it's just hardened sugar TBH

When they finally decide to come off the cure, I'll clap

And a condom does so much more. HIV is not the only incurable STD. Maybe if men could get pregnant, they'd be smarter. But then again, abortion rates would prob go up. U know what...its a hopeless case.
