Lady Gaga is a lot of things on her new record Joanne, but one thing she?s not is like Madonna.

Don?t think of this as pitting two women against each other, because it?s not. Lady Gaga is on a mission to portray her new album out tomorrow (Oct. 21) as a piece of her soul, and anything described otherwise isn?t sitting well with her. There?s no need to remind you of the several Twitter responses she?s had over the course of the week, those are all available to ogle at here, but one thing that was striking during her sit-down on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe Thursday morning was being compared to Madonna.

There are major differences between me and her? I just will not be compared to anyone anymore. I am who the fuck I am, and this is me. My life story is my life story.
