yeah colorism is a huge problem in South Asian communities
Particularly in women...but even in men too.

I remember my cousin telling me that I wasn't as fair as him.
He said that if I wanted to be fair I should take a towel and soak it in very hot tap water and put it on my face and kind-of burn the darkness off.

I tried it once. And my face was red for like an hour afterward.

This is why I stan for my beautiful dark skinned Black queens.
its so much stigma attached to it all that can be alleviated with more self pride.

but PReme brings up a good point. our community doesn't seem to have it as bad as others
u don't see Black mothers pushing their daughter's faces into cans of bleach.
