My roommate (update)

So iono if y'all remember but i had posted about my roommate and how he took advantage of me, financially, and how i think he might be gay etc. and his gf etc.

Well I moved out last week.
And on a hunch...I decided to call our landlord to clarify some things.

So...basically he lied and told me our rent went up by $100 when it didn't.
So I was paying him $50 more for about 7 months when I didn't need to.

Also, he lied about other shit too. I paid rent on the 3rd three times in 2 years and he said I needed to pay a late fee. In reality, there was no late fee. Cause late fees accrued on the 4th.

I found all this out today.

Umm...eee...like...uhhhh

I confronted him about it and he basically turned it all on me and said I was rude as a roommate and I was unfriendly and had an attitude.  :uhh: :uhh:

motherfucker what does this have to do with the MONEY?  :uhh:

What the fuck? Like he refuses to acknowledge that he lied to me and cheated me out of money and instead focuses on my "temperament".

I can't. Should I pursue this or let it go? Part of me feels like I shouldn't even deal with his trifling ass and let karma do its work. He's a fucking mess.

If you have documentation to back up your claims that he cheated you out of money, I would pursue.

i recorded our conversation (me and the landlord) and i have proof of my payments.

she hates him, too. and wants him gone.

the shade is, a girl was supposed to take my place and she backed out at the last minute so now he's responsible for 2300 a month. bye, fag. good luck.

Did you not read the lease yourself before you signed (if you signed anything) instead of depending on what he said?

Yeah that was my mistake.
He did everything and kept everything and when I asked to see it he made an excuse.
He handled all of the lease shit.

I was out of the loop, being a typical L.A. flake  :dead:
But at least the landlord is on my side. I'll see what needs to be done.
I just know how he is and he's very dirty when it comes to this shit.

and sometimes nothing will change that

deciding to live with someone is a big step most ppul come together for convenience of paying the rent but by the time you get finished dealing with their drama or financial situation  or annoying habits
an efficiency mess looks very appealing

if you have the proof take him to small claims

Well this is about the money and not the mess from the last thread so I'd definitely pursue it.  Ur gonna cheat me outta money because u didn't like my attitude? Yea ok, i got something for u. I thought it was standard  practice that late fees began accruing on the 5th of the month tho? Why didn't u know any of the mess? Were u not on the lease

What u waiting on? Pursue. And get ur landlord as a witness if possible. Also sue for pain and suffering. Shit, an inconvenience fee.

i was. i was an idiot. i've known him for 15 years so I trusted everything he said.
but yea...i'm pursuing the fuck outta it. he's living in alternate universe. he didn't even apologize when i confronted him about it. all he could talk about was my "snooty attitude"  :dead: :dead: :dead: :uhh:

Because the rent was paid and despite u giving him more
He can probably come up with a good "reason" for the extra $50 .. and conjure up some shit about the late "fees"

I would just drop it .. and beat his fucking ass one late night ..

Plus he's left with this rent.. he will suffer more than you..

Because I'm assuming you weren't on the lease, right?

actually, it's very easy to prove it. for 1, u have the landlord as a witness. what u need to do however is text him. confront him that way about the money and carry that to court. sometimes its not so much about the money but the PRINCIPLE and these motherfuckas need to learn they cant do shit like that and get away with it.

The judge would light his ass on fire for letting his roommate handle all the lease tea while he was out on the town bullshitting.
