Touring with RKelly won't seem to help much imo. They're appealing to the 40+ crowd. They need a younger, female audience.

And opening acts (especially those who are only booked as a favor to the headlining artist's creative director) barely make two nickels to rub together, in fact most opening acts end up losing money. They are lucky if they are making $300-$500 a show (to split 5 ways ).

Is R&B dead?  I have the feeling that if this group came out in the '90s singing R&B music, they'd have no problem at all.  But now, marketing a group of black girls who want to sing R&B is an uphill battle. 

They were given no push once so ever, like they were expected to fail based on the genre of music they make.  Even the one song they did push wasn't a true R&B song.  It was a throw away ratched, hip-hop mess because the thought was anything with too much soul won't sell.

That sucks.  I miss R&B girl groups.

June's Diary having it rough out the gate is a direct reflection of the state of music.

Fifth Harmony blew up kinda late but at least they had backing
They dropped the EP and opened on tour for a larger act as well.

But June's Diary are 5 talented women who sound cohesive as fuck when they sing.
They've got talent and haven't really been given a fair shot.


We need R&B back.
