The Nine Network will be hoping for a bit of 90s' girl power for the 2017 season of The Voice adding US pop singer Kelly Rowland to the line-up.

She will join returning judges Delta Goodrem and Seal, who has been absent from the show since he helped Harrison Craig win the second season in 2013.

Grammy and Brit Award-winning 80s' icon Boy George is also on the panel.

Rowland is the ninth different judge the show's producers have wheeled through the spinning red chairs as they search for a combination that works for audiences. Previously Ricky Martin, Wil.I.Am, Kylie Minogue and Jessie J have all appeared as judges.

35-year-old Rowland shot to fame alongside Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams in late-90s' pop act Destiny's Child.

With the group she recorded several platinum albums and a number of worldwide tours.

When the group went on hiatus on 2001, Rowland pursued a solo career and appeared as a guest on other artist's tracks including Nelly's Grammy Award-winning single Dilemma.

Her visit to Australia for The Voice won't be her first reality appearance downunder.

in 2012 she was a "coach" on Ten's ill-fated dance show Everybody Dance Now in 2012 which launched to a disappointing of just 598,000 before slumping to below 400,000 viewers forcing Ten to axe the show.

Nine are keeping their 2017 schedule close to their chest with no details on when the show will begin, but the preliminary audition rounds for contestants, where they try their luck in front of the show's producers, have already begun around the country.

The successful candidates will go through the the blind auditions where the judges will choose who makes it through based only on the quality of their voices.

The series has been a ratings winner for Nine, regularly winning it's time slot and pulling in more than a million viewers each week.
