People seem to be going at it on FB/Twitter/IG over this video

One side is pointing out the use of gay lingo and the other talking of its origins from black women.

The comments  :guys:

Do ya'll think people are overreacting or do they have a point?

Opposites Attract.

This is why Black womens can not be trusted.

I was gonna make a thread asking if gay black culture will ever get its respect and acknowledgment

That would be a great discussion

From my point of view:

Just as black culture is popular (globally) yet black people aren't

The same could be said for black queer/LGBT culture

The only thing that's gay on there I guess is "spill the tea"
but I remember recently seeing straight men say that on re-runs of Sanford and Son
which is from way back

Nine

Spill the tea, slay. These girls have really stolen the lingo.

Unoriginal selves.

Opposites Attract.

These words been around for centuries but the contexts of these words in which they were being used in were introduced on Paris is Burning and within the Homosexual culture in the late 70s, early 80s. Like lets not be stupid here.

But guys let's not act like impactful gays haven't basically borrowed women's mannuresms and phonetics .. flipped em a bit .. put them on steroids and coined them their own

I'm not tryna be edgy but most of the things we gay men say are inspired by black women :hmph:

So no one should be mad

D.I.E.G.O.

A lot of this is "gay" lingo. Women of all races have appropriated it, which is annoying at times. The reverse is true, as well. The GLBTQGNC community has appropriated lingo used by women as well.

The gays be wanting something to cry and bitch about
No shade

WHat makes you think gay people are upset?
