Ally Brooke, 23, Normani Kordei, 20, Dinah Jane, 19, and Lauren Jauregui, 20 -- will continue on as a four-piece. Three days later, Epic Records and Syco exercised their option on the pop act, Billboard has confirmed, moving full-steam ahead with a third Fifth Harmony album to be released in 2017.

And success provided the act the leverage to renegotiate what is typically an onerous contract -- signed by the girls as individuals before even stepping foot on the TV stage that would give them their Cowell-constructed shot -- with terms that dictate a length of seven years and assign them to specific companies and affiliates within the Sony Music system. (Syco Entertainment is a joint venture with Sony.)

“They’re in a position to have more creative involvement and really direct where they want their music to go,” the insider offers. “They're a huge name on the Epic roster so it makes sense to keep them there and work on another hit album. While, at the same time it benefits the girls to stay as well and really own the direction they're going in rather than litigate themselves out of a deal.”

5H3 is coming :blessed:

I hope they take this in a more urban direction, now that they have some creative control

I keep forgetting how young they actually are
especially Dinah, she seems so much mature for 19

Will they change their name though?

Unfortunately, no. :-/
they should've changed it, it really makes no sense when it's 4 girls

I read that they have trademarked H4rmony and Fourth Harmony.

Really? I hope its true.

!!! I am trying to find the link. I hope it's true as well. They could use a rebirth after the drama.

Opposites Attract.

It would be stupid to change their name. They built the Fifth Harmony brand already. Changing the name they'd have to start all over from scratch. Anyways, I hope they take the album in a more Urban R&B/Pop Direction. Their biggest hits are featured rappers so definitely the right rappers for the first single is a must. They need to leave Bubblegum and Filler songs off this album.

Working with someone like Lil Uzi and Yachty, someone fresh and current would give them some edge.

It's unconditional, these days you know....

They need to wipe the slate clean and re-brand themselves

Changing the name does take away from their accomplishments.
it really wouldn't be an issue....

and tbh I think they need a restart.

They are two albums in with this last album putting them on top. Any executive will tell you that changing the name would be insane.
