Empire has scored an early renewal for season 4, Fox announced at the Television Critics Association?s press tour on Wednesday.

Centered on a hip-hop and entertainment company, Empire stars Terrence Howard alongside Taraji P. Henson as the heads of the Lyon family, with rising stars Jussie Smollett, Bryshere ?Yazz? Gray, and Trai Byers playing their sons.

Empire continues to be the No. 1 broadcast drama among adults 18-49 for the third consecutive season. Across all viewing platforms, Empire averaged roughly 16 million total viewers during the 2016-2017 season.

The series launched in January 2015, becoming a ratings phenomenon before being moved to Fox?s fall schedule in 2012. The show also has attracted a slew of banner guest-stars, including Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Marisa Tomei, Naomi Campbell, Ludacris, Adam Rodriguez, Rosie O? Donnell, and Andre Royo.

Empire will return Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

I literally don't see why everyone all of a sudden hates the show 
Yh it's a lil corny at times but it's still entertaining

Well it seems that if the cast isnt majority white with 2 black actors
its hard for them to see the good in the show
and if its portraying anything other than blacks passing the grey poupon they dont like it
and if an episode doesn't wow them they want it canceled

I also think the shock factor of what lucious does to his family wears off on the viewers
id like to see him be supportive without a motive and really be there for his family emotionally when they need him to be
