we were SLAYING when we made and actually supported our own black institutions. All throughout the 80's and 90's we progressed....When whites realized we didn't need them to be recognized and celebrated, that's when they wanted to start including us. the more successful blacks became the more they abandoned black ceremonies for the white vote.

And the same people who do what I said are suggesting this grand idea as if perching at award shows will do anything other than give a ratings boost. Stop being hypocritical.

This mindset that we need to remain separate and celebrate our accomplishments individually is dumb. Our ancestors fought for us to be BLENDED.

Artists are not gonna win all the awards we WANT them to win, but what we can agree on, is that we need to fight for the right things, and support our OWN
If the big black actors and actresses and can hit up the Oscars, golden globes AND attend the NAACP and Image awards, why can't our singers
