I?m not trying to start a war, but I would just like you all to realize the hypocrisy of seeing someone wearing a Fulani septum ring, rocking a djellaba, painted with Yoruba-like tribal marks, all the while claiming that this is meant to be respectful. It?s a hodgepodge, a juxtaposition, a right mess of regional, ethnic and cultural customs and it screams ignorance and cultural insensitivity.

I used to appropriate black American inner city culture eventhough I don't live the same struggle.

I think its cool to honor our heritage but its a different story when u start playing dress up.

UNless you've done extensive research and know exactly what you're wearing stands for. And even still........it's about respect for culture.

i would never walk around like im str8 from africa or an indian reservation somewhere. at the end of the day we have our own culture and upbringing to be proud of.

but its always good to see ppl taking pride in Africa. i can see why some could be offended though.

Clearly those are comtemporary clothes with an traditional twist and not some religious garbs. I don't mind it cause like this the legacy continues to the next generation. As long as we know where it is from, it is cool in my book.
