I mean .... his father backed him better than any label ever could financially ... AND with networking

I'm seeing so many posts about ppl posting their art for free now expecting the same payout ... I advise against it.

Plus a lot of ppl just hear, oh he did it indie giving music away for free

Even still, what he did was a big feat

But new artists still need to know that isn't going to happen for them being completely indie.

I think the most important thing it did, was take away the excuses for established artists who have the means but ALWAYS try to convince their fans it ain't happening because of no label support or backing

So it is going to shift the industry just a bit I think.

People are acting like he had overnight success when he's been out since 2012 putting out mixtapes.
He released 3 mixtapes and 2 were critical acclaim.

His dad also worked for Obama too, they're extremely well connected

I didn't even notice until somebody was hating on Chance getting to visit the White-House.
