She struggles with severe bipolar issues.  Her mom was an author, and made a book about their struggles called 72-Hour Hold.  Last I remember, Maia was trying to get it made into a movie.

Maia has a place in my heart because I grew up on her and we went to the same college.  When video of her surfaced looked ragged and drugged out, it shook everyone.  Prayers for her.  :stressed:

She was still getting arrested and acting erratically a few years ago.  She was on Iyanla prior to that.

The same thing happened to Lisa Nicole Carson back in the day.  Great up-and-coming actress, great role on a popular show, and then she went crazy from bipolar disorder.  Disappeared for years.

But sis just appeared as Ricky's mom in the New Edition movie, so maybe Maia can get it together as well.

How old are y'all?  Or are y'all not American?  :guys:

Maia Campbell was one of the black teen girls who slayed the '90s.  She was on In The House with LL Cool J, but stayed in tv shows, movies, and music videos.  Suffered from bipolar depression and drug addiction in the early 2000s, and mostly disappeared since then.
