I don't quite buy it... Aaliyah died August 25, 2001. The Diary of Alicia Keys was released December 1, 2003 and If I Ain't Got You was released as a single on February 17, 2004... If the song was Aaliyah inspired (and I've read somewhere it was September 11th inspired as well... which was also in 2001) why would she wait so long to release the song and not make it the first single (she released You Don't Know My Name as lead single.) She said the song was written pretty quickly... it doesn't take years to produce the song.

That ain't nothing to lie about. Didn't Aaliyah record "I Care 4 U" for the One In A Million, but used it for the red album? Shit like that happens
