Y'all act like pre-Nicki, Remy wasn't one of the biggest female rappers out.

Even Nicki was a fan  :usureuok:

What female rappers were actively releasing music when Remy was relevant for 2 songs?

Y'all love saying "biggest female rapper" as if we've ever had XYZ amount of them available. There's always been a huge void in comparison to male rappers.

Remy was popular, her verses were well-known, and her name was in Nicki's mentions among the best female rappers alongside Kim and Foxy.  And that's that.  :overit:

aint nobody know nothing but
"R to da Eezy, M to da wiz-eye" tbh
Only real hip-hop heads knew her lyrics outside of her big hits with Terror Squad
Joe hadn't even given her a TS chain when they went on 106 with Brandy

BAPHOMET.

Quoteher verses were well-known

:diddraispoot: I dont even know any words from "conceited" So i know no one knows any verses from her other mess.

But blue font is right, there hasn't been strong competition in female rap in ages. And definitely not by the time Remy came out so if you were a female with ANY kinda success at that time, you were the "biggest female rapper."

Nicki was a fan because Remy is a great rapper
not because she was the hottest thing out
no females were really doing anything besides maybe Missy

Popular with Terror Squad. All her singles flopped (including Conceited) and so did her album.

Nicki isn't a good source to use.

Well-known, as in respect for her bars.  She always stood with a big group of niggas and held her own lyrically, and wasn't just thought of as "good for a girl."  I remember people praising her Ante Up and Lean Back parts.  I'm not from NY but she had major respect for a female emcee (even from dudes) in a way I haven't seen since... I don't know, Lauryn?  MC Lyte?

Everything Real and Drais are saying is what I said yesterday let's see how Jayden responds or if he will

I mean yeah, she came from the battling world so she def got respect for that. But that was nowhere near mainstream enough to make an impact where people are walking around spitting Remy verses. You had to have been following that scene to know that. "Lean Back" put her on a good track, but she fell flat solo wise. That's why she was in interviews dissing Joe and her label back then. Whatever "popularity" she had was pretty much circumstantial

And that's nothing against Remy. I like her to a degree. But I don't think she'll ever be able to stand alone. If it ain't being a feature on a popular song or beef.....she don't hold interest

That's a common refrain used against Nicki.

When a female emcee comes out spitting real bars like Remy, and also pretty or interesting enough to make pop hits and features like Nicki, she will slay.  This conflict shows people miss real lyrics and hiphop beefs.

How did you come to this deduction tho?
Ppl are only invested in this because they hate Nicki. Real is right, Remy brings no star power to the equation.

And Boosie is a homophobe but he called out the Frauds accordingly. Whenever there's a top spot, the challenger always has the first buzz, then it dwindles down. Why all the Nicki hate now tho? 🤔

Also .... lets not act like Remy is giving a Street Fighter II New Challengers mess

Sis has been trying this shit for years even before Nicki came along, I didn't hear one person turning down SuperBass and wishing Remy sang it :dead:

And the fact that Remy challenging Azealia or Lady Luck or any other female rapper would've have been PAID by the general public, proves Nicki's power imo.

Sometimes you just gotta get with the winning team.
