You really don't need the feature to ignore someone's banter, though.
It's just an added measure.

However, saying you're ignoring someone and referencing them kind of defeats the purpose. After a while, people realize you're just uninterested in what they have to say, and eventually stop addressing you.

It works. A few members on here who I found rather unsavory just left me alone after they realized that well, I don't care enough to argue with them.

Yeah, I don't see the point in that. You mind as well argue with them, because it's just blatant antagonization at that point. IMO

Positive space and energy is precious, and highly sensitive. Opening the gates to a "duel" is only allowing it to be tainted. I've learned to avoid it at all costs, unless the matter is of enormous significance.

• the board puts a big space where all their posts are with a link to "view post

Like I said, it's an added measure. You shouldn't depend on it as a standalone.
When I see it, it's just that. I see it, I don't read it.

You have to just be at the point where once you decide that you have disregarded someone and their accompanying dialogue , you kind of have your mind up. No matter what quoted posts you may see. Your internal ignore feature is the most effective. The better you know yourself, the less outside opinions seem to matter.
