Honestly, I don't think her singing has regressed any. Her tone is just different now, not quite as dark and sultry.

I remember during the 4 era, there was an interview she did where she said on that album, she wanted her vocals to sound more like her live vocals. Ever since then, her vocal approach has been different. I love how her voice is now. It works on songs like Superpower and Rather Die Young. But its kinda evident she's not as free or comfortable hitting higher note.
