I don't think it should be about holding white women as the standards of a good performance

Is this person believable? Regardless of whatever they've studied, does it seem as though this character is real and living honestly within the circumstances of the story?

Taraji RARELY does that. I'd have to see more from the other girls, because only a couple movies/shows come to mind.

But again, they'll hardly get to showcase diversity in this white industry.

The latter is why it's hard to really judge their acting chops. I hate that black women don't get to play in good drama roles and not the Tyler Perry or lee Daniels kind.
Halle and Viola seem to be part of a very few that to snag a diverse role.

I'm so pissed Angela joined AHS only for Ryan to not allow her to shine in a lead... like he's letting Regina King. I really hope Angels crosses over into American Crime or American Crime Story...give her the fucking opportunities he gives Sarah.
