That made alot of sense to me tbh. If a white man was thrown in a room with a bunch of blk panther ass blk people, they'd more than likely take a knee. They either dont wanna say the wrong thing or they want to be invisible because it's intimidating. The only white guy i could see being boisterous in a room full of proud ass black people is a racist that wants to spew his hatred. And the gay guy being friends with the blk president isn't far fetched either. For one, it's his roommate

Secondly, he isn't a jock. They addressed that in the show when the white man told him he'd be good on the football field and he was like yea, not my thing. Lastly, he's white washed as hell. His whole character is a detour from the stereotypical blk jock. This school seems ivy league, its not on the block daquan making fun of the neighborhood faggot. Blk people gravitating to other blk people on a campus where they are the minority despite differences isn't far fetched. That's what the whole show is about. These different groups of blk people that differ on how to handle the problem but recognizing that there is a problem so they convene in spite of all the shallow shit
