I mean to be fair I'm sure as an artist he didn't want to assume or accept that Thriller would be his biggest album......and I'd imagine the pressure to deliver led to even a bigger sense for the need of "conformity", not to mention he had A LOT more money to play with post-Thriller.

But overall I agree that his natural beauty was enough.
