It's just amazing that for once, we're witnessing this very familiar discussion in a much different setting.
A black man....excuse me....a GAY BLACK MAN....sitting amongst his white counterparts as the most successful
Giving them advice that things which have made him successful.

Putting them in their PLACE. With receipts to back every word that comes out of his mouth.
And not cowering into a damn near fetal position soon as one of them attempt to counter his rhetoric.
instead, talking over THEM. let them see how it feels. to be in a lessor position, and talked over, and ignored, and disregarded.

it's quite fucking beautiful! lmao. hehe!

I mean...
I agree, to some extent.
Not every white person is like certain white people.

I don't know. I just feel torn when it comes to race, because people usually paint a broad brush. And it's not so.

But I'm so happy of what I saw. It really excited me and made me feel joy.
It's amazing.
come here ddy.

Referring to the word "aint".
I knew why he used it. And he placed it correctly and "drove it home" if you will.

But not everyone is going to catch it. They'd be too ignorant to do so. Which is annoying.
That's why I wish he didn't say it.

And what I mean by TOO ignorant to catch it...
it's similar to the guy asking him about Asians when Lee was making his points.
Some white people are going to be so far removed to GET IT.

But you also have to start with education. How many black people get the chance to really become a good writer? Inspire young kids to go study..talent will get recognised

:uhh:  :uhh: ....but lets be honest the writing on Empire is HORRIBLE, and Tyler Perry is a Horrible writer as well... so its not really doing anything to help the cause in establishing credibility or a need in Hollywood for minority writers, specifically Black writers. However, both Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry are very successful, but it has nothing to do with the content or lack thereof, but plays into the narrative  of where there is a demographical void in mainstream media, there lay opportunity. Opportunity to exploit self identifying  imagery,  and cultural reference, which history and statistics tell us, that these exploitative tactics, in most cases have proven to be very lucrative, regardless of quality of content. So what we see now is the Black Actor and its presence in mainstream media becoming more valuable and less of a liability, with or without contribution from black writers. So if there is no need... there is no opportunity.

!!!!

We need more quality writers like Donald Glover to come forth and dominate these screenplays.
