It was the Destiny Fulfilled era and tour. If you watch that show, she really started PERFORMING down!  I think we forget that era was planted right in between her solo projects.  So, it was really just more touring experience and figuring out who she is onstage.

But the level is HUGE in comparison to when she started.  She seemed so unsure of herself at the 2003 BET Awards, but by the time she did "Deja Vu" it was like a completely different person.

Getting rid of that DJ and getting a live band also added a new dimension to her live shows.

And also having to hold back!!!  Imagine having to hold back in a group with Kelly and Michelle.  Then filming a movie where you have to play the weak singer while someone else gets all the spotlight.
