I know this is about bey and her on stage with someone else.

But I just seen this tweet on twitter and now im curious. What performance was the SHIFT in the performer we saw on TBE/B'day ?

It was the Destiny Fulfilled era and tour. If you watch that show, she really started PERFORMING down!  I think we forget that era was planted right in between her solo projects.  So, it was really just more touring experience and figuring out who she is onstage.

But the level is HUGE in comparison to when she started.  She seemed so unsure of herself at the 2003 BET Awards, but by the time she did "Deja Vu" it was like a completely different person.

Getting rid of that DJ and getting a live band also added a new dimension to her live shows.

Im about to watch that concert and the performances from that era in just a bit.
I do forget about that entire era when thinking about the change. 
Her determination to study herself and make the necessary changes to be BETTER

Deja vu in 06 for me

With the all female band on BET awards, right before the experience tour. That's when she made me forget about the group and her performance style completely set her apart from everyone else
