My guess it is probably autoimmune hepatitis. Which can be very fatal, it's really not anything to joke or play about. However it can be controlled by getting the immune system suppressed and lifestyle changes which I can imagine from the type of lifestyle it appears he leads is difficult.

Right depending on the type of lupus like sle which can affect every body system. My mom has sle and it gets worse even with medication
