I was chatting with one of my RHOA sources last week touching base in preparation for the production crew to descend on Atlanta this week. I did find out a few interesting tidbits.
Michael Beck has been busy lately producing Fire Island for Logo and the sixth season of Don?t Be Tardy. He is very close with Kim Biermann, and he will be taking over for Carlos King as showrunner for RHOA season ten. That will be interesting. I would imagine that Kim is really not concerned with her editing for the upcoming season. Perhaps Kenya should be?
I am also hearing that we haven?t seen the last of Peter Thomas. He is in talks to come back in some capacity. Why? No one seems to know. Maybe his criminal charges against Matt?
There has also been a lot going on with Kandi Burruss. She was so pissed after the reunion that she was ready to walk. She is considered the fan favorite by many measures and she is really the only one with a lot of potential storylines, so that really upset Bravo.
So she was given many enticements to come back. Many enticements. It is unknown how much of a raise she got for RHOA. However, she will be getting an extra paycheck for her new as yet untitled docuseries following Xscape?s reuniting. She will actually get a few pay checks for that, one as talent and another as executive producer. The other executive producer is Love & Hip Hop creator/exec producer Mona Scott-Young. Todd will also be a producer, so there is yet another check. As yet another bonus, the series will film as the same time as RHOA and there will likely be some crossover scenes allowing extra exposure for Xscape. The reunion tour is already in progress and selling well with second shows being added.
So Kandi is making more money by far than all the rest of them. Todd has an extra job. Xscape is getting tons of free exposure. The OLG is a huge success and Kandi is winning. Success is the best revenge.
As for Porsha, well, she?s still in. But she?s twerking on thin ice.
