Sle? :uhh:

Can you explain the Rih/Ken connect :dead:

She's on his album, previously featured artists got the award too. Now you have to be credited on 33% of the album to be eligible.

That was always the rule as far as I know. It was always 33% contribution for everything. They simply just added songwriting to the mix.  Surely u dont think in the past every artist that is featured on ONE song gets an Album Of The Year grammy. :uhh:

n

Surely!

You're incorrect.  Since 2001, any artist listed as a proper feature on an album was eligible to also win Album Of The Year if the album won.  That also includes all producers & engineers.  Why do you think so many people got onstage when Adele won for 25 this year?  They were all winners.

This is straight from the Grammy website.  If Drake had indeed won for VIEWS, all of these people would have also collected an Album Of The Year trophy.  See Rihanna's name in line 1.

You learned something today.

They are always loud and wrong on here. This is a BRAND new tea.  :kii:
Like why the hell would the Grammys issue a press release if there was no update. The fuck  :uhh:
the update was this
Quote2017 RULE AMENDMENTS
Songwriters Now Recognized In Album Of The Year
the rule was already set that you had to have 33% of the project to get an award for featured artists, producers etc, so Rih was never in the running even if her name is in the mix :dead: :dead: :dead:

:kii: That image proves nothing. Just has a list of all the features on the album. Doesn't mean they actually take home a grammy. Lauryn Hill won her Album Of The Year grammy and I aint never heard of Mary J Blige or D Angelo braggin about having a grammy for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.  :kii:

:plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

wow, this thread kinda backfired!

Wow, you really are stupid.

The reason D'Angelo and Mary J. Blige didn't accept the win for The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is because that happened in the 90's before the rule change. Lauryn won in 1999.   I looked up the Grammy eligibility rules, because I couldn't remember the exact year.  And the rule change was actually started in 2008.  That 33% shit is completely brand new.

Examples...

Colbie Caillat was the only feature on Taylor Swift's Fearless album.  Colbie's only 2 Grammy wins are for Album Of The Year (as a featured artist) and Best Pop Collaboration for one of her own songs.

Jay Z in 2014 was nominated for Album Of The Year as a featured artist for Beyonce's Self Titled album.

Straight from GRAMMY.com.

So, YEAH.  Had the rule change not happened, Rihanna would have likely won Album Of The Year (as a featured artist) for DAMN. - which is the critical & commercial favorite for 2018's ceremony.

I couldn't really care less, but you're not gonna keep running around here giving in the know! when your ass is wrong.

Instead of making a whole new thread...

They did make some important changes to the voting process.

You're such a dumb ass. If the rule was always in place then why was bey nominated when the fame monster was up for album of the year?

Yeah they included songwriters now, but the major change is the fact that everybody has to have at least 33% contribution on the album.

I'm really starting to understand what they mean with you being wrong and refusing to accept it.
