I remember that song.


What I don't remember is people praising Nicki as a dope lyricist. 


She was cute for what she was, and she capitalized on the absence of other female rappers.  Sitting on the steps freestylin when all the others were going to jail, in jail, or otherwise preoccupied.  But she was known as a knockoff Kim and Foxy, and got way more attention for her fake Hardcore pose than for her lyrics.

I wouldn't NOT put her on the level of Fox or Kim in their prime because I was just listening to Broken Silence yesterday and ... yeah.

But Nicki holds her own lyrically. Can we agree to that ?

I will concede she has a few songs that don't sound like they were written by a fifth-grader, but those are few and far in between.  I like Itty Bitty Piggy, but I'm not wowed by the lyrics.
