I am still trying to find a way to get the attention of waiters without being disrespectful. I mean some just put you on ignore..they are in their own bubble and leave you sitting there for two hours without food and drinks. And apparently it is rude to put your hand up to get someone's attention. So I guess I have to get up and walk up to them then?

I never really have this problem.

The staff usually comes around and asks if we need anything (food, drinks etc). They even take my plate if I'm done with it.

I don't know if this is even true but going over to someone's home and not wanting to eat or drink anything.

Now I've done this before. I'll get ANOTHER waiter's attention and be like can u bring me........or tell so and so to come back but im not walking over to a damn waiter. 
If i have to do that, service is really terrible and im almost surely leaving a smile as a damn tip. U shouldnt even need to gesture to a waiter to come because they're supposed to be walking by filling up water if its half full, asking how things are going randomly, etc. One way to indicate that ur done with dinner is to lay your utensils parallel across your plate but other than that I've literally NEVER heard its rude to raise ur finger or sumn to indicate that u require service. That's actually ridiculous. Like, how tf else are u supposed to get their attention? SURELY the answer isn't "walk over and go find them"

And ive done all of this before too. Catching their eye attention shouldnt be hard. If ur my waiter your eyes should be glancing toward my table every now and again
