Yeah 106 should come back

A return of 106 wont really pop. Maybe in a couple more yrs. It really just ended the other day. TRL been over the air since like 2008/2009 thereabout. And I think it has a better chance of being successful. I'd prefer to see an artist like SZA on the TRL stage than some 106 show hosted by Bow Wow n 'em.

Yea, this is stupid. There needs to be a platform for every kinda artist. What ur basically saying is because u feel TRL appeals more to the masses then that should come back but 106 is "local" so u don't care to see artists on there. Really really dumb tbh

I don't think 106& park should've ended they just needed better hosts with chemistry and change the format of the show. They already were doing all the social media stuff they just should've made it even more interactive and cater more to artists bc videos aren't  really what ppl are watching it for.

Nope. Thats not what im saying. A show that works well that caters to the Urban audience >>>>> But lets be honest. How many of us were still watching 106? How many of us would be rushing home to watch 106 at 6pm? Back when 106 was big, urban music was big. Urban songs crossed over. Ashanti, Mary J, A Keys, they could easily get #1s back in 2002. The music climate has changed period. The black community aint even supporting our own, 106 included. Sounds great on paper but in reality, no one was really tuning in like that. And yes, it could work IF it was done right, but we're talking about BET's late ass.

TRL is more likely to be successful now over 106 cause the Demis, Fifth Harmony's, Bieber, One Directions, etc are whats hot for the younger audience. We no longer have Bow Wows and B2Ks for the 106 crowd. Long story short, just like how the top artists today are dominated mostly pop acts, TRL would also pop off more naturally. I'd also love for an artist like SZA to get instant pop radio plays like Ashanti, Mya and even Brandy did back in the 106 days but that's not the reality anymore. That's what I'm sayin...

There is no demographic for a show like this anymore. After it was axed, people found other ways to view their favorite videos. Why tune into this when I can view a video, in the palm of my hand....ANYTIME? No need to watch live. Television viewership is down across the board because of this very thing.

Performing on 106 wasn't moving the needle for none of the urban acts like that. So making appearances on shows like this won't do much for an artist either. Not when you can reach fans via social media.

Might as well bring back Soul Train as well

Nelly, Kelly, Aaliyah, Mya, Busta, Mariah, Missy

All were TRL regulars

There's a good chance they'll feature a lot of these mumble rappers for sure.

I just think the format as a whole doesn't make sense now. Especially with indie artists on the rise with their streaming media outlets

It has money backing it tho so it'll hang on for a season or two

And they've already tried reincarnations of TRL since it went off air.  And they were short lived. 

No one is watching this.
