I guess some people just can't handle all the visual info that is coming into their brains plus she also doesn't have the responsibilities of healthy people (looking for a job for example). It is a crazy way of making life really simple, I guess that is somehow comfortable for her. There will probably be people who will take care of her because of this. Because of this condition there are people who have to help her all the time. She is getting all of this attention from them and other blind people, not because of her personality or her skills. It reminds me of people who constantly make themselves or their children sick to get more attention
