I Bet was terrible. Fuck her

Diane didn't direct "I Bet".

Not too much.
oh wow she didn't. I always confuse that cause Diane keeps her on a set with platforms doing a performance video mess. And truth be told, Diane can go. Promise, Love Sex Magic, and Ride all coulda been way better :plea: we gettin honest tonight

Baby sister! :guys:

XXX.

Tal, Diane still did her best videos IMO.  Outside of "Goodies".

"Ride" and "Promise" are 2 of the only videos in her catalog that feel iconic.

That's what I love about Diane working with her!  I feel she gets her.

Listen, Beyonce released 17 videos on Self Titled.  I don't think a single one is iconic.

A lot of them are dope, but they didn't really penetrate the culture the way "Formation" and "Hold Up" did.  That's how I feel about Ci's video catalog.

Ci should make a strong album and let Diane at least do the first or 2nd single.

The way that Dave Meyers got her together from a look standpoint tho is fabulous. I mean, they showed you all sides of Queen. The sultry queen and the hood rough Queen. He talked about how a Ci video had never really showed both sides successfully. And the way that he captured her dancing along the night sky :gorlonfire: gonna watch it now

This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I think it's a good looking video, but it's just not my favorite.  The choreography and her look during that scene kind of kill it for me.

But I can see what you love about it.

I'm hoping her next project is light years better than Jackie.

Because I really just can't again.

Yeah, she'll more than likely use her again. They definitely have a vibe.

Flawless is an iconic video to me. :raycharles2urmess: That and Yonce. But she traveled in a completely new direction for self_titled videos. The dancers in the background format only happened on Blow. There were burquas flying all over the screens.  She proved how she could transform herself for every visual, by not playing up to her obvious archetypes. I'm not shocked she didn't get Single Ladies type shine for that album. The album itself was an iconic moment.

I agree with you.  I think the Self Titled album and videos were both about rebranding her image for the 2nd half of her career.  It was the first time we started seeing her as an adult woman and not so cutesy or performance based.  Honestly, the Self Titled videos feel very cinematic.  Kind of what you were just saying you wanted for Ci.  :kii:  I just don't think there's one in particular that really moved the needle, and that's totally okay.    "Partition" is my favorite. Shot by Jake Nava ("Crazy In Love", "Single Ladies", "Flawless", etc.).

I just prefer where she went with Lemonade.  And I honestly am a little unsure if she can top it.  I mean, Lemonade was such an iconic era overall.

How can her next album penetrate the world the way the "Formation" video, "Formation" Super Bowl performance and the movie did?  Just all the controversy and discussion that came with this from "Becky With The Good Hair" to whatever else.

EEK!

But we'll see!

It gets harder every time you drop.  I'll admit that I am nervous for her this time around.

She has a great team around her.  Honestly, most artists are only as good as their team.

When she fired her creative director Kim Burse (who now works for J.Lo), and hired Todd Tourso (former creative director for GaGa), things started changing.  She also fired Frank Gatson (choreographer) and switched around her entire management team.

Most times, if you want to stay hot, you have to be willing to end relationships and realize when it's time to move on.

XXX.

The best example of an artist with a horrible creative team is Rihanna.  She's so beautiful & stunning, and arguably, released the best album of her career with Anti.

But the visuals were awful.

And it was like that for Unapologetic too.

If it wasn't for Jay Brown being such an incredible manager and A&R, I don't know what Rihanna would do.
