At the Television Critics Association press tour, the executive producers of Fox's Star spoke more about Luke James appearing on the show.

A few days ago on Instagram, showrunner and creator Lee Daniels revealed that Luke James, Elijah Kelley and Evan Ross would appear this season.

James' character will be in a love triangle with two of the Star girls.

Daniels did not speak on Ross or Kelley's roles at the TCA press tour.

James and Kelley starred in The New Edition Story as the young adult and adult portrayals of Ricky Bell and Johnny Gill.

Ross (who of course is the son of Diana Ross and the younger half-sibling of Tracee Ellis Ross), is known most for his role in The Hunger Games film franchise.

Star returns for a second season this fall. Its premiere episode will be a crossover event with Empire.

You know I tried to get into it, because Sean is the choreographer. 

But it's a mess just like Empire.

Im just reading that the premiere will be a crossover with empire. I hate when they do this shit. I don't fckn watch empire so let the shows stay SEPARATE

It looks a damn fool. And all these "celebrity" guests are a turn off.
Part of why I stopped watching Empire.

I honestly think Lee Daniels is terrible.

I love that he's giving black actors opportunities, but his shows have started to feel really cheap.  And they get so nonsensical and twisted.

This crossover is weird because Naomi plays a different girl in both shows.
