Representatives for YouTube have now confirmed the official full first-day view count for the video, and while it?s not surprising to see Swift rack up impressive numbers, even this news is massive.
According to the company, ?Look What You Made Me Do? was played 43.2 million times in just its first 24 hours, which is the largest one-day sum any video has ever been able to rack up in that span of time. Impressively, Swift didn?t even need the full 24 hours to break the previous record, and she has now pulled ahead by millions of plays. It may be some time before anybody is powerful enough or any video is anticipated enough to come even close to matching the newly-established record.
In fact, YouTube claims that in its first 24 hours on the site, Swift?s latest was watched 30,000 times every minute, and the excitement has yet to wear off for many.
