I can't believe this is even a debate.
My mom's husband is creole. He's light skin with "pretty hair". And he always has told stories about how niggas used to fuck with him in the hood when he was growing up. And he grew up in a really rough hood. I mean, let's not pretend that "light skin" is not seen as weak & soft to a lot of jealous dark skin kids growing up. It's the very reason why "acting light skin" kind of became a part of meme culture in the last couple years as a replacement for "soft".
My little brother, who is really light, used to also get bullied in middle school for the same damn things. Kids would even tell him, "You look white!....Your hair this!....Blah blah blah!" And the culprit was always some ashy little dark skin kid who was more than likely jealous of his physical features. We're 14 years apart, and I used to get so upset that he was feeling down and sad over the way he looks. My little brother has absolutely nothing to worry about physically either. And is a cutie! Which is the sad part.
A lot of the complexes some dark skin people have definitely didn't develop at 18 & over. Some of them have been showcasing and projecting how they feel about themselves since they were kids.
