But Afro, how do you explain that all the biggest Afro-Latino events happen in New York City.

Maybe people in your HOOD/experience of NYC are that ignorant, but like you agreed not all people, neither in NYC are that simple-minded.

This looks like a mad cool line up btw

When it comes to events of course it will be more technical love.

But you have Joseline - someone who is actually Latina, calling herself "Spanish".

She's not from Spain. That shows you that generally, it's all a bit inaccurate here.

But you won't find me correcting a Latina when she says it.

"Oh no! Let me school you honey!" It's really not that deep to us here.
Does this make sense, Malc? :usureuok:

The comparison of some American black/mixed Latino people not being able to use proper terminology, does not apply to this debate. It only shows their low level of education (Cardi, Joseline etc.), or how the misuse of the word has become common to the English language in certain social groups. It does not add to the debate on how black-passing Latinos self-identify as far as their blackness.

Joseline can call herself Spanish (meaning Latina/Hispanic) and it does not say anything on her status as a black woman. So I am not sure why you brought it up.

I'm not going to start going around telling Jose that he isn't really "Spanish". Sorry I have better things to do and worry about. Like myself
You are the only person who brought this irrelevant mess up. Noone debated the use of the word "Spanish".
