SZA's impressive debut album, CTRL, garnered praise from music's upper echelon and has since earned the singer features on pop records like Maroon 5's "What Lovers Do" and Lorde's "Homemade Dynamite (Remix)." While many artists have taken notice of the singer's talents, SZA revealed in a new interview with BBC Radio host DJ Semtex that one of hip-hop's biggest rappers wasn't initially a fan of her music.

In the interview, Semtex asked the singer her thoughts on JAY-Z's latest album 4:44 where she admitted that she hasn't listened to the album "intently," but the few tracks she heard were "brilliant." She then recalled her first encounter with the iconic rapper.

"JAY-Z was the first person to tell me that he thought I was a fluke, to my face," the "Love Galore" singer said. "I laughed and I said, 'So do I.'"

She explained that Hov really meant no harm and later told her that she was "really good."

While she wasn't offended by his remarks, she did reveal that sometimes she thinks about why she chose to pursue music. "I question how I got into this mess, all the time, and then I question, do I want to stay in this mess all the time and then I question, do I love this mess? Or is there any other mess I?d rather be in? And it?s like, nah I guess I?ll keep this mess and pursue the rest of this mess.?

XXX.

Something about this story makes me skeptical.

What I honestly believe happened is she ran into him recently.  And he congratulated her, and jokingly told her that he didn't think she'd ever get this big.

Or something like that.  Just basing it off Jay's sense of humor.

SZA, shutup.

Damn.

Sza is just a self conscious gorl.

He probably said jokingly and she made it int a bigger debacle.
I'm sure Sza is paranoid and thinks the whole industry is having meetings trying to figure out how to have her assassinted
