Meh.  She's literally putting one materialistic thing over the other.  And it's easy for people who are in a certain tax bracket to say, because while traveling, they have access to so much more.  A lot of people will spend all that money on flight and hotel and have pennies for spending money.  As someone who has been out of the country (you have too!), I can say that it is always well worth it and an amazing experience.  Hell, traveling period if you're booking dope trips.  However, saving up coin to go to Disney World for a weekend may not be as important to someone as rocking their favorite dress, shoe or bag. 

As long as your bills are paid and kids are fed, spend your money on whatever you want.

That assumption always tickles me. Some of these people can prioritize better, yes. But a lot of them are living paycheck to paycheck anyway, so if they wanna drop 150 dollars on little things here and there, I don?t see the point in crucifying them.

I'm blessed I can afford to travel i wouldn't miss it. I never bought fancy clothes in my life though. I guess people have different priorities.

!!! Personally for me experiencing different cultures and traditions has enriched my life and has opened my eyes to the world, and for  some reason I think Europeans are likely more to own passports than Americans and have the tendency to travel more.
