Most of my friends are like "oh hey, roommates with 4! Not so bad! Get over it!"

:melmel:
Yeah I never could do the roommate thing.

If that's the case I'll move in with my family. At least I know them and know they won't be shoving my toothbrush up their ass and mess.

Sinpool

people keep trying to talk me into moving to NYC but shit those prices.

Which borough are you in?

I did Manhattan for a few.  I don't like it in general, living wise.
Then Long Island City.

I considered North Bergen, NJ.
Or Hoboken.

The problem is, other places want to charge $1800+ for some roach infested, paint peeling mess. No, ma'am.

You feel forced to pay more just to get something CLEAN, renovated or new.
You should try Downtown Brooklyn.

It's energetic and safe ....convenient
Nice mixture of people. Rent is reasonable.
it's perfect for young professionals tbh.

If it were closer to where I work I'd probably be perched there again.

Been there.

nnnn

I always wondered is Staten Island expensive? It's like the forgotten borough.

I've never even had a desire to got there anytime I'm in NY.
There?s no reason to go to Staten Island. I only go there because I have family there but it?s so irrelevant..

yummy

Manhattan is an arm and leg for some noise and a shitty landlord. You need to look into Brooklyn.

Thanks to gentrification, it's way more safer than it was back in the day.

tears.

Right. Ask them if they'll help you to pay your rent mess owt.

Who's trying to talk you into it? Do they actually live up here - and do they have roommates, etc.

Where are the good places to live and not get shot or robbed?

Certain parts of Long Island aren't bad either and the commute into the city isn't that long tbh.

But Brooklyn, where I'm originally from, has gotten out of control. Price wise.
It's actually worse there.

Harlem is acting out too, price wise.

And the Bronx is next...

I want to buy in the Bronx before prices go up.
Cause unless you have rent stabilization, you're screwed.

And I don't care how much income anyone makes, it's too much for rent.
