Reminds me of this Map that shows how rich the states are by comparing them to whole countries.

It makes sense why the rent is so sky high I guess.

It's pretty strict here, except some places...

But you need to make 40x the rent to get in.

And for me... I don't care if I can afford it or not.
I still think it's disgusting to charge so much.
Especially since salaries are not high across the board.

Manhattan is an arm and leg for some noise and a shitty landlord. You need to look into Brooklyn.
!!!

My coworkers live in harlem and pay crazy money - didn't have gas for months

And talk about not having hot water off and on like it's fucking normal and something you can get used to.

And the infestation in Manhattan is gross  :uhh:

There's no reason I'd should be paying nearly two grand a month and have to deal with no hot water and Stuart Little perching in my damn cabinets

yummy

Not an apartment for $700

Ugh, Ton' can you teach me how to drive? :bvy:

I always say shop based on your salary

And most landlords will check anyway.

You won't be making 20K a year tryna move into an apartment for 3K a month. :plzstop: :plzstop: They'll want receipts of your salary - paystubs, etc.

Nike Suit, Apple & Co. will happily allow you to live beyond your means but landlords will put a stop sign with the quickness.

Only way I'd live in Manhattan is if I had REAL money. Like money to where I'd have a fucking LOFT somewhere and be able to HIRE people to call the landlord for me.

That's the only way you're really living comfortable there.

But sex & the city!

I prefer Queens.
They have some great areas.

Still expensive, though.
